Cinemas Diary is free for everyone to read. Advertising helps us pay for writers, research, hosting and the tools needed to produce quality cinema coverage. This Advertising Policy explains how ads appear on our website and the standards we apply to advertisers and partners.
1. Separation of Advertising and Editorial
Our editorial team works independently of advertising. Advertisers cannot influence our news coverage, reviews, ratings or recommendations. A film’s marketing budget or ad spend on our site has no effect on how we review it.
2. Types of Advertising
- Programmatic display ads – served by Google AdSense and other networks. These ads are selected automatically, and may be personalised based on your browsing as described in our Cookie Policy.
- Direct display ads – banners booked directly with us by production houses, OTT platforms, film festivals and entertainment brands.
- Sponsored content – articles or features paid for by a partner. These are always clearly labelled “Sponsored” or “Partner Content”.
- Affiliate links – links to products or services where we may earn a commission. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
3. Labelling
All advertisements are visually distinct from editorial content and labelled “Advertisement” or “Sponsored” where appropriate. Sponsored articles carry a clear disclosure at the top of the page. We use rel="sponsored" on paid links in line with search engine guidelines.
4. What We Do Not Accept
We reserve the right to reject any advertisement. We do not accept ads or sponsored content that:
- promote piracy, illegal streaming or leaked content;
- promote gambling, betting apps, adult content, tobacco or illegal drugs;
- make false, misleading or exaggerated claims;
- contain malware, deceptive redirects or intrusive pop-ups;
- are hateful, discriminatory or defamatory;
- request paid positive reviews, ratings or fake news.
5. Sponsored Content Guidelines
- Sponsored content must be accurate and genuinely useful to our readers.
- Cinemas Diary retains final editorial control over formatting and labelling.
- Sponsored articles never pose as independent reviews.
6. Ad Experience
We aim to keep ads reasonable so they do not overwhelm content or slow down the website. We follow the Better Ads Standards and avoid disruptive formats such as auto-playing audio ads.
7. Advertise With Us
Cinemas Diary reaches movie lovers in Kerala, across India and among the Malayali diaspora worldwide. If you would like to promote a film, OTT release, film festival, entertainment app or brand, email mail@admarq.in with the subject line “Advertising” and share:
- your company or film name;
- the type of campaign (display, sponsored article, social promotion);
- campaign dates and approximate budget.
Our team will respond with available options and rates.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
