Negative roles in bollywood movies Bollywood

5 Bollywood Actors who Aced Negative roles exceptionally superb

The two toughest parts for an actor to play are probably comedy roles and villain roles. You need to have impeccable comic timing to succeed in comedy. You have to perfect the way you’re speaking and it has to seem natural over anything else. Only that gives your character a credible appearance, which makes it funnier. On the other hand, playing a villain forces an actor to convey nuanced emotions and demonstrate human frailties, which is completely opposite from playing a positive character. The actor must possess the same negative emotions and hatred for others as the character in order for the portrayal to appear genuine. Grey characters are frequently more realistic than white characters, according to Emraan Hashmi.

1. Shah Rukh Khan

Don (Don / Don 2) : Don was a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-led original “Don.” Clearly, there must have been tremendous pressure when attempting to recreate such a famous Amitabh Bachchan character. But Shah Rukh Khan didn’t let fans down because he did a great job of convincing people that he was an underworld don. Shah Rukh Khan continued to project the same vibe as the character in the Don sequel. The sequel’s story was entirely unique, with the exception of the characters. And once again, Shah Rukh Khan excelled in the role of Don. We were persuaded that he could effortlessly play any role based on his demeanour, body language, and speaking style.According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan will start filming Don 3 after finishing Zero. Don 3 is also reportedly in the works. We are eager to see him in this fierce avatar once more, so we hope it happens sooner rather than later.

Rahul Mehra (Darr)  : In the film Darr, Shah Rukh Khan played Rahul Mehra, a man whose love and obsession for Kiran Awasti (Juhi Chawla) liberates him from all concerns about life and death. She marries Sunil Malhotra (Sunny Deol), but his obsession with her persists. Rahul Mehra exemplifies the kind of man who will go to any length to achieve his goals. Shah Rukh Khan played the obsessive psychopath perfectly in this film. Additionally, Shah Rukh trademarked his now-famous “K..K…K…Kiran” dialogue in this film.

Ajay Sharma (Baazigar) : Baazigar shocked everyone by deviating from the standard Bollywood formula by focusing on an anti-hero. Nevertheless, it was one of the top earners at the box office that year. For his performance in the film, Shah Rukh Khan received a great deal of praise from the critics as well as enormous popularity. And rightfully so, as Shah Rukh Khan completely captivated the audience with his portrayal of the anti-hero and his nuanced portrayal of a complex character.

2. Sanjay Dutt

Kaancha Cheena (Agneepath) : In the Agneepath remake, Sanjay Dutt played the part of Kaancha Cheena, which was originally played by Danny Dengzongpa. Sanjay Dutt had to step up his performance to match the character’s legendary status for the film. Sanjay Dutt did not let anyone down, either. Everything Sanjay Dutt did, including his muscular appearance and dialogue delivery, gave his villainous role in the movie a more realistic feel.

Balaram Prasad ‘Ballu’ (Khalnayak)
: Ballu (Sanjay Dutt), a notorious and crafty criminal wanted by the police for a number of murders and thefts, was the subject of the film. After being apprehended by Inspector Ram Kumar Sinha (Jackie Shroff), Ballu manages to escape right in front of him. As a result, Ram’s girlfriend Ganga (Madhuri Dixit) consents to pose as someone else to assist in capturing Ballu. When Ballu develops feelings for her and Ganga isn’t completely immune to his charm, things become complicated. Sanjay Dutt was cast as the ultimate villain in the Khalnayak movie, and he did a fantastic job portraying the part.

3.John Abraham

Kabir (Dhoom) : Dhoom offered moviegoers a welcome change of pace with its high-speed chases, extraordinary camera work, and wizardly good technical effects. This could be referred to as The Fast and the Furious’ Indian equivalent. The plot of the film involved a police officer named Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) pursuing his top target Kabir (John Abraham), who has a history of eluding capture and is now planning a casino raid. The negative character in Dhoom, like Don, was presented in a stylish avatar and given more prominence in the movie than usual. John Abraham was the ideal choice for the role.

Manya Surve (Shootout At Wadala)
: In this Bollywood crime thriller, the murder of gangster Manya Surve in 1982 is dramatised as the first-ever registered encounter by Mumbai police. Shootout at Wadala similar to its predecessor The murder of a gangster was the subject of the tale Shootout at Lokhandwala. John Abraham did a fantastic job of portraying a gangster. His physique improvement and excellent dialogue delivery made his character seem more credible.

4.Ranveer Singh

Sultan Allauddin Khilji (Padmaavat) : Among all women in history, Rani Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) is regarded as one of the most beautiful. Between Rana Rawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor), the Rajput ruler of Chittor, and Rajput Queen Padmavati, this true story is the picture of love and sacrifice. When Queen Padmavati is the object of Allauddin Khilji’s (Ranveer Singh) lustful gaze, their idyllic existence takes a tragic turn. One of the Khilji dynasty’s most brutal kings, Alauddin Khilji, rose to power by assassinating his father-in-law, his brothers-in-law, and their uncles. He had a reputation for attacking nations solely for their resources (land and women). The attack on Chittor was, in fact, motivated by none other than the regal Rani Padmavati. Ranveer Singh elevates Bhansali’s historical epic.Ranveer’s portrayal of Allauddin Khilji was unlike anything Bollywood had ever seen, whether he is having an affair on his wedding night with a woman who is not his bride, swaying in a bathtub as his gay aide sings to him, suggestively sprinkling perfume on a swooning courtier, or blowing kisses to his own reflection.

Ranveer Singh experienced stress while portraying Khilji because the role was so dark and intense. Ranveer replied when questioned about the same.It was extremely risky. I was very hesitant to take the chance, but Bhansali persisted in seeking me out and is the one who persuaded me that I could pull it off.I trusted his judgement. Given the amount of support Bhansali has given to my career and to me as an artist, I am unable to say no to him. Ranveer once reportedly misread a situation off-camera on the sets and, while still in his Khilji mode, was about to physically assault someone for making a small error. Suddenly, the actor’s instinctive response was that of the character and not his own, and he said to himself, “Wait a second, this is not real.” However, it is safe to say that Ranveer Singh’s efforts did not go in vain because Padmaavat is expected to be a box office success and his performance in the film received rave reviews.

5.Emraan Hashmi

Shoaib Khan (Once Upon A Time In Mumbai) : Comparing Once Upon A Time In Mumbai to other Bollywood films like Satya or Company, it was a less gruesome and realistic portrayal of the underworld. Ajay Devgn played Sultan Mirza, an underworld don who starts out as a young child and quickly rises to the top of the industry. Son of a police inspector is Emraan Hashmi’s character, Shoaib Khan. Shoaib’s father asks Sultan Mirza to hire him, and Sultan agrees, giving him the responsibility of managing an appliance store for electronic goods. However, Shoaib felt that position was insufficient and asked Sultan Mirza to report directly to him.Shoaib earns Sultan’s trust by demonstrating to him that he is a worthy employee.

Sultan chooses to hand over control to Emraan Hashmi when he must leave the city to take care of some business. As a person, Shoaib was driven by a desire for power and was prepared to do whatever it took to obtain it. And it was only natural for things to spiral out of control once he gained that power. The actor Emraan Hashmi did a fantastic job capturing the character. It was fascinating to see him change from a small-time thief with excessive ambition to a man who rebelled against the person in charge of the city. His lines such as “Zindagi ho toh smuggler jaisi… sari duniya raakh ki tarah neeche aur khud dhuen ke tarah upar.” became incredibly well-known and also demonstrates his character’s thirst for power.
